To keep me in the mood I went to see Frozen II last Tuesday which I really enjoyed. Sometimes the follow up is not as good as the first but I thought this one was and an unexpected twist at the end!
Thursday was The Historical Society meeting, Medieval Medicine, which was really interesting and quite enlightening. I picked Shelagh up and took her with me as usual. She is going into a care home for four weeks while her bathroom is done and a ramp up to the front door so I was trying to sort out some nice clothes for her and some new trousers which then had to be turned up. The care home sounds very nice with lots of activities going on. I think she will quite like it as there will be people to talk to (her favourite occupation) and lots of food.
On Saturday I went to see my friend Tracey to take her birthday card and present as it was her birthday on Sunday. I have known Tracey for about 27 years since she started as a trainee on reception at Dudley Chamber Training where I worked at the time. She has had a tough time lately with illness in the family so it was nice to see her.
Today was the knitting session at work as part of their wellbeing programme as it is 'Blue Monday'. (The third Monday of January is supposed to be a depressing day due to post Christmas blues, cold, dark dismal weather and the arrival of December's credit card bills). However today the sun was shining and there were lots of activities for people to investigate from massage to mindfulness, walks, games and a quiet room to just relax. Six people came along to learn to knit and I also took along crocheted items, patchwork, rag wreaths and rag rugging, latch hook and cross stitch plus lots of books. Hopefully I will have inspired some of them.
