Have started a new quilt. This one is quite different to the last, more structured rather than random and using square blocks rather than oblong brick pattern. It is based around a set of napkins that I bought from a car boot last year. They were brand new and I also have the table cloth and place mats as well. The pattern is Sanderson rose and peony. To contrast with the flowery material I chose some plain cream and deep rose pink. I have embellished the plain squares using contrasting scraps of material, some cream cotton lace and some small rosebuds. I sketched out my designs first and then made up the squares. There are 24 flowery squares and four of each of the others. I laid them out on the floor and am now starting to stitch them together in rows.
