Yesterday morning the tap in the bathroom decided to spring a leak, just what I needed! Unfortunately I had to take the sink unit to pieces to get at it. As I suspected the pipe had come off so I replaced the jubilee clip and checked all of the others. Not as simple as it sounds but never mind, is fixed now. Just need to re-seal all round the sink again but that will have to wait.

As the weather looked bright and sunny thought I would take advantage and have a look at the sea. Drove to Prestatyn as that is the nearest seaside and is quite nice.  Sea was very rough and wind was freezing but braved a walk across the 'front'.

Stopped at a craft centre on the way back which had material, wool, paper and other crafts. Bought a ball of fine kid mohair wool in pink which was reduced to half price and which I think will make some nice crotcheted flowers.

Weather today has been bright and sunny again but much warmer (6 degrees).  Decided to spend the day in Chester. I always use the Park and Ride Service as it is only a short drive away (Chester Zoo), and only costs £2 return with free car parking.

Black and white scarf now finished.  This one is for a present (but I can't say who for!).

Happy birthday to Mark Foulds who I can't believe is 50 today!

Ferry and flowers

Yesterday as the weather was OK I decided to go to Liverpool via the ferry.  This means finding my way to the ferry terminal at Seacombe which I am not very good at.  I have yet to master the art of geting though Birkenhead without getting in the 'tunnel only' lanes.  The last time I went there I ended up taking an unintentional trip through both both the Wallesey Tunnel and the Queensway Tunnel.  Managed a bit better this time though and caught the ferry OK.  (The Royal Iris which apparantly was commandered and saw active service during the war).

Determined to do some crocheted flowers in mohair, spring colours.  Checked out some ideas on You Tube and made a start.  First one not too good, (top left) second better but a bit small (top right) so made the next one bigger. This one seemed OK so wrote the pattern down so I could repeat.  Made the last two into brooches for sale (bottom two).

Walked through the re-furbished Albert Dock which I always find fascinating.  Popped into one of the shops and found a nice pair of navy leather gloves which I have been looking out for for a while, and at just £5 they were a bargain!

Back through the town to the ferry and home to do some crafting.

Sunshine and snow

Today is my first post and it is coming from my caravan in a very cold Chester.  I am here for the week and am hoping to get out and about exploring the surroundings and get time to do some crafting.  Since I arrived on Saturday I have put some curtain tape on a shower curtain, sewn up a purple knitted sweater (which I am currently wearing) and knitted a blue scarf in loopy scarf yarn (not for sale I'm afraid, this one's for me).  I also want to work on the rest of my website.

Today it has alternated between snow and sunshine and is very cold and blustery.

I have brought with me a sewing machine, some pieces of material, bits of ribbon and trimmings, my jewellery making things, some cut out felt dolls, stuffing and some knitting wool so will let you know what I achieve.
