Staff barbecue at Lantra House this afternoon. Weather was a bit cloudy but warm and no rain. It was nice to chat to people I haven't seen for ages and for someone who doesn't like barbecued food it was very nice, all supplied by Farmers Fayre, the farm shop on Stoneleigh Park.

Popped in to see Mark and Michelle on the way back to wish them a nice holiday and to take them some Spanish (AKA large brown) onions as a laugh. We were talking the other day about how nice and mild Spanish onions are and how you can't seem to get them any more and I said that Lidl sometimes have them. When I did my shopping on Wednesday they had them in stock so I couldn't resit picking some up for them.

Have finally finished the scarf I have been working on using the Scheepjes whirl that I had for Christmas (or was it my birthday last year?!)

Nice week spent in the caravan at Studley with Mark, Michelle, Anais and Roman. Arrived Monday afternoon and going home today. Weather had been very warm. Had to pop home twice unfortunately, once for the alarm engineer to fit a new alarm system and one to visit the dentist to get my crown fixed back in.

On Saturday we went into Alcester, such a pretty little village and lots of charity shops to browse round.

On Saturday evening I had a ticket to see the Simon and Garfunkle Story at Malvern. I booked to eat at Prezzo again before and had a nice wander through the town and took some photos. The performance was excellent, they played all the well known hits and told the story.

Spent a lovely weekend with my sister Scarlett who came to stay with me.

On Saturday we went to Worcester. We had a walk to the old part with the medieval buildings and had lunch in a nice cafe and then walked round by the cathedral and down by the river. There were lots of statues of elephants around the town. I liked the one in the picture.

Afterwards we went to Malvern as we had tickets for the theatre to see Oleanna. We had a walk through the gardens and up through the town and past the priory to admire the view from the top and then had tea in Prezzo.

Back home now. Left Poolsbrook at 9.30am on Saturday morning and was back at Studley for 11.30. Spent last night there with Mark, Michelle, Anais and Roman. It was nice to see Michelle's mom and dad and the children on the afternoon and we all wished Anais Happy Birthday for tomorrow and had some cake. Today we just chilled and then packed everything up and came home to piles of post and washing.

Really enjoyed my time away and have some lovely photos to remind me but it was nice to see everyone again when I got back.

Weather warm and sunny so decided to go to Bakewell. I have been there before but always enjoy visiting. Pretty little town with a river and a nice bridge. They have a good traditional market but it's on Mondays so missed that. Did buy a Bakewell tart though!

Moved on to my final destination yesterday. Poolsbrook Nr Chesterfield. Good journey and arrived dead on 12.00pm. Weather in the afternoon not good so did not bother to go out.

Weather today lovely and sunny so went into Chesterfield (well known for its crooked spire). There is a really good vintage and flea market every Thursday which I love to look around. Bought some coronation mugs for my collection, five big balls of wool for 50p per ball and a partly finished quilt in black and yellow.

Last day here before moving on to my 7th and final destination. I had thought I would go to Fountains Abbey today but the weather was not good and also the only tickets left were for late afternoon and I had a Teams meeting for work this afternoon. Instead I went to Morrison's (nearly the same). I haven't been in a Morrison's in ages as there isn't one local so it was a nice change. On the way back I stopped off at Boroughbridge town and had a look at the river.

Weather warm and close again but did not look too threatening so drove to Knaresborough. I have been there once before and was fascinated. It is a bit like like Bridgnorth with a high level and a low level. The town and the castle are on the high level with brilliant views over the river.
Next I went to Ripley which is a pretty little village just outside Harrogate with some nice houses and a castle. I think it looked as if it was (and probably still is) a prosperous village. Apparently the castle was built in the 15th century and has always been the home of the Ingilsby family. The village has several listed buildings.

Final week of my holiday and destination number 6, Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire. Have stayed here once before at Easter (I think) a few years ago. Mark and Michelle stayed at Sutton Hall a few miles away and we met up. The site is beside a river.

Weather when I set out this morning was very warm and humid. By the time I arrived it was looking a bit threatening and not long after I set up it started to rain and the thunder rumbled round. It rained then for the rest of the afternoon but went a bit brighter in the evening so I took a few photos. Looked out of the window and there was a goldfinch on the grass, not a sight you expect to see and a bit later a little robin came and sat on the hitch cover. Not quick enough for photos unfortunately.

Last day here today before moving on. Thought I would have one last look at the sea before moving more inland so drove to Seaham on Durham's heritage coast. Weather very warm but cloudy. Seaham used to be major port for the shipping of local coal and still has docks today. While I was watching a ship came into the dock. There is also a harbour and a nice beach. Unfortunately my best camera was flat so had to use my little camera.

Went into Durham again in the afternoon as I had something to collect. Bit rainy but not too bad. Took one last photograph of the river with the cathedral above.
