Went to the cinema on Wednesday morning to see All is True which is about Shakespeare later in life when he returns to Stratford from London after the Globe theatre was destroyed by fire. It stars Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench and Ian McKellen.
Went to Stratford on Thursday night to see The Provoked Wife at the Swan theatre which was excellent, very funny. The cast included Jonathan Slinger, Caroline Quentin and Les Dennis. The writer of the play, John Vanbrugh, was apparently also an architect and designed Castle Howard and Blenheim Palace.
Friday was Roman's 12th birthday so I went to tea and Michelle made an amazing Lego cake. (See Michelle's blog at Romanais.co.uk).
Saturday morning I got the van out and was joined by Mark and Michelle. Saturday evening was Olivia's dance concert at the Prince of Wales theatre in Cannock. The dances were amazing and Olivia did really well, doing cartwheels and back flips.
Today we went to the Stratford Festival of Motoring. It has become a bit of a tradition to go there on Romans's birthday weekend. We came across it a few years ago when we had just gone to Stratford for the day and we have been every year since.
