I had a text message to say that my flight was delayed by an hour and a quarter but in fact it was only a few minutes late. Weather in Scotland was similar to here, not cold. I was given a Qashqai for the drive up to Perth and arrived at the guest house at about 6.30. I stayed at the Fitzroy again as I love the furnishings, a mix of antique and quirky like the old washboard used as a shelf, and the guys that run it are very nice.
I decided to use public transport to get me to the airport on Thursday as my flight wasn't until 3.15 in the afternoon so I had plenty of time. I caught the bus from the end of the road to outside Sandwell and Dudley railway station and then caught the train to Birmingham International. It didn't cost anything as my oldies bus pass covers travel on buses and trains in the west midlands area. I liked the idea of the tartan napkin rings fastened with a kilt pins last time I stayed so I made some of my own! (Mine are the blue and purple). My meeting on Friday went well and I caught the 5.15 flight back home. Unfortunately I just missed the 6.53 train and the 7.33 train was delayed until 7.50. Good job I had a good book with me! Got a taxi back from Sandwell and Dudley to home as no buses that time at night.
